Leatherwood Bespoke Amber Range Bass Rosin
Leatherwood Rosin is made in Australia, using ethically sourced pine rosins from various countries for bespoke blends, and premium leather and sustainably grown timber both from Australia for the artisanal wrap and housing. The entire Leatherwood production is focused on using natural materials in the most environmentally responsible ways. Founded by a professional violinist, crafted for discerning musicians, the performance results are truly bespoke.
The Leatherwood Amber Range Bass Rosin helps players find the exact combination of stickiness, grip, traction & lyrical quality to suit their playing needs.
20% - Solo & Chamber Music: these harder rosins offer clear and consistent lyrical quality particularly in higher registers. A crisp bite to the string allows for clarity in articulation.
30% - Orchestral (average climate) or Heavy Orchestral (hot climate): while maintaining the lyrical qualities of the harder solo rosins, this recipe offers a little more "stick" at the beginning of the note allowing for greater projection.
40% - Heavy Orchestral (average climate) or Baroque/Gut: much softer and stickier, these rosins are designed to offer superior strength of "stick" and power, particularly for the lower or extended strings.
50% and 60% - Heavy Orchestral (cold & dry climate): These very soft and sticky recipes allow the gut string to be grabbed with reliable strength, and the lower traction allows the string to vibrate freely without restraint.
Customers may choose the recipe based generally on their climate and their performance setting requirements. Softer rosins are normally better in cold & dry climates, harder rosins better in hot climates. Harder rosins are normally preferred in solo & chamber music setting, softer rosins are favored for more orchestral and baroque performances.

These recipes do not dry out like other rosins and will last 1-2 years with intensive playing. You can also mix them on the bow hair for an even more customized result.
