Franz Werner Guadagnini Vintage Violin
The Franz Werner Vintage Series represents beautifully made copies, constructed after extensive study of original violins crafted by great and historical makers. The tonewoods are carefully chosen from stock which has slowly air-dried for decades.
Guadagnini model. Built on a 1757 example of Giovanni Battista Guadagnini (1711-1786). Influenced by Cremonese makers but leaving his own mark stylistically, Guadagnini lived an interesting and somewhat nomadic life, making remarkable instruments in Piacenza, Milan, Parma, and Turin over a 50 year period.
Each Franz Werner is carved and meticulously crafted by an individual maker to produce a stunningly attractive instrument of superior performance. Beautifully figured tone woods, enhanced with a rich handsome finish, are complemented with a balanced resonant tone and exceptional playability. Projection is superb.
Spruce top of fine, close grain. Two piece back of well defined, narrow to medium flame. Ribs and scroll similar. Finished in a warm brownish amber on a golden ground. Each violin is shop adjusted by our experienced, in-house (Tucson, AZ) luthiers, to assure excellent playability.
Made in Germany.
